Smart Alarm's FAQs

Smart Alarm's FAQs

What devices can a gateway connect to?

A gateway typically supports smoke detectors, heat detectors, carbon monoxide (CO) detectors, and sometimes water leak sensors or intrusion sensors. Compatibility depends on the brand Wisualarm.

How do I connect my smoke/heat detector to the gateway?

Please note that only Wisualarm interconnected detectors can connect to the gateway device. If you are unsure, please contact online customer service to confirm whether your detector model can be directly connected to the gateway.
When connecting, please use the Wisualarm App to scan the gateway first, and then follow the connection steps of the App to connect other detector devices.

Why isn’t my gateway receiving alerts from the detectors?

Common fixes:

Check if the detector and gateway are within range (Wi-Fi signals weaken through walls).

Ensure the detector’s battery isn’t dead or firmware is updated. Verify app notifications are enabled and the gateway is online.

Do smart alarm systems work during power or internet outages?

Power outages: Battery-powered detectors will work, but the gateway may fail.

Internet outages: Alerts may be delayed if the gateway relies on Wi-Fi. Some systems use cellular backups

How do I install interconnected smoke detectors?

Installation typically involves selecting suitable locations (e.g., hallways, near sleeping areas), mounting the detectors to the walls or ceilings, and connecting them using radio frenquency according to the manufacturer's instructions.
