Gateway and Environmental Sensor

Really well made and work well together. Also seems if you have other WISUALARM products then they can communicate together. The main function is to see the current temp and humidity. The battery claim is 10 years! Pretty pleased with these.
I haven't found a way to link up to my home assistant yet, though. But I'm not an expert at that.

I had high hopes for these thermo-hygrometers, included in the package was a gateway which can be connected to your network either wirelessly or via ethernet cable and three thermo-hygrometers each with a claimed battery life of a whopping 10 years! The gateway creates an 868MHz mesh network with the sub-devices which is great to maximise both range and battery life. The WisuAlarm app is free to download - available on iOS and Android - and all very easy to get everything connected and working. I double checked the temperature and humidity values with another brand of smart thermo-hygrometer I already have and the accuracy was good. Sadly after a great start I was left rather underwhelmed...

All you can really do with these thermo-hygrometers is check the current temperature and humidity and set alerts for when either goes above or below a set limit. There is no graph of historical data, no means to download the data as a *.csv file and most crucially no way to connect the app/gateway to a smart assistant (Alexa, Google Home, Apple HomeKit, Home Assistant, IFTTT etc.) so no means to create any smart automations triggered by these thermo-hygrometers. I already own some TP-Link thermo-hygrometers which also operate at 868MHz with their Smart Hub which do all of the above, and although a set of three plus the hub will cost you just over 50% more the functionality is in a different league. Admittedly the Tapo thermo-hygrometers need new batteries about every 12 months, but that鈥檚 a small price to pay.

I think the issue here is WisuAlarm are used to making interconnecting smoke and carbon monoxide alarms which need to be high quality with a reliable connection with each other but have no real need to connect to other smart devices outside of that ecosystem. These thermo-hygrometers appear to be their first foray into something a bit different and really only seem suited to being used as an additional means of triggering an alarm/alert within that closed ecosystem. If you already own some WisuAlarm smoke detectors these can be used to add an additional layer of information/safety, if however you are after some thermo-hygrometers to integrate into your smart home these probably aren鈥檛 for you.

I thought very hard about the rating of these devices and despite my personal disappointment settled on four stars as none of the features I had expected were actually listed on the product page, and the devices themselves are actually very good quality so if you already have some WisuAlarm devices, or just want basic realtime information and alerts, these could be a worthwhile addition.

I wrote a comprehensive review of this with screenshots of the accompanying app. Unfortunately, it couldn't be approved. I have no idea why not. So, I'll make this short and concise.

It works. The app (needed to set up and read displays) takes you through the steps needed to connect the gateway to your WIFI. Then you add the monitoring devices one at a time. I had problems with error messages during testing, and some of the status displays changed language.

Lastly, the gateway needs USB-C connection (wire and plug provided) and the monitors have 10-year non-rechargeable non-replaceable batteries.

I personally haven't had any issues with this. The app takes you through everything so it was easy to set up. I have a lot of plants and like being able to monitor the humidity of the room, if it gets too high then I can always turn on my dehumidifier. They are small and compact and not an eyesore like some humidity monitors.
