Really good quality heat alarm which makes a super loud noise when activated.

It's wireless and just sticks to the ceiling so is really easy to install.

We recently had our house rewired and I didn't realise that the minimum safety standard is now heat alarms in certain rooms/areas rather than smoke alarms, so this has been perfect to help us comply with safety rules and hopefully keep our family safer in the event of an emergency.

Heat Alarm for Kitchen, 10 Years Sealed Battery Life
The battery is already 'up and running' when the alarm is despatched. The battery is not isolated like some batteries are, and nothing has to be done.

Full, clear, instructions are provided.
I set this up as a single (stand-alone) alarm. The alarm can only be wirelessly interconnected with other Wisualarm devices, which I didn't have any of. It works fine as a stand-alone device.. If using as a single alarm, section 4 of the user manual (interconnection) can be ignored

As a single alarm, the alarm is easy to set up.
There are two ways of mounting the alarm:
- stick it to the surface (adhesive pad included)
- screw it to the surface (fixings and template provided)

The backplate is fixed to the surface by the chosen method, then the alarm is just pushed onto the backplate and turned clockwise until it locks in place. That's it!
Test the alarm by pressing the large white 'button' in the centre. It only needs a short press.

The large white button isn't a button and doesn't actually do anything!

The actual switch that actuates the test is a form of microswitch inside the body of the alarm (the long silver piece shown in the photo). This is normally closed. It is opened by pressure on a piece of plastic on the underside of the alarm base (not the backplate). This is the curved strip with a raised plastic + . When the large white button is pressed, the body and the base of the alarm is pushed down slightly against the backplate, causing the plastic + to be pushed down, thus opening the microswitch and triggering the test (amongst other things).

This process is a weak point of an otherwise seemingly good alarm. The operation is very hit and miss and pressing the button doesn't always work. Sometimes pressing the edge of the button nearest the grill may be a better option (the microswitch is mounted on the PCB in that area).
Occasionally, even pressing the plastic + with the backplate removed doesn't always work! You will have to persevere.
Because of the test hiccups, I have dropped one star from the rating.

Note - because of the way the switch works, if testing out the alarm before it is mounted, always make sure the baseplate is fitted and the alarm is on a flat smooth surface, such as a table or worktop.

I tested the alarm with a heat source, and it triggered correctly.
The battery is is stated as lasting 10 years, only time will tell if that is an accurate statement. The battery cannot be replaced so, after the battery has failed, the alarm should be replaced. This is no problem. Alarms are meant to be replaced after a certain time because the relevant detection devices wil be starting to get less reliable as they wear out.

Amazing heat alarm. It has 10 years battery. It lasts for 10 years. You can easily test it and silent it by its big button. The fire detection class is A1.

Incorporating fire safety in the home is crucial. This heat alarm caught my attention with its wireless linking capability. Having several rooms, the feature that all alarms sound when one detects heat is reassuring. No wiring hassle and it stuck well on the ceiling. Not needing Wi-Fi or apps is a plus. Most importantly, false alarms from my smoky kitchen escapades have been significantly reduced, offering peace of mind.

We had smoke detectors installed by the Fire Service a couple of years ago, and since then, one of them has been the bane of my life! I'm a cloudy vaper, and every time the lounge door was opened, the smoke alarm over the stairs would set off! The responsible grown-up in me couldn't remove the alarm, but I was getting up 20 times a day to disable it, and it's a testament to my patience that it didn't end up in bits like Phoebe Buffay's!

I've replaced it with one of these heat detectors and I couldn't be more pleased with it. At last, I can open the door without waking the neighbours! (though will take me longer to shake the feeling it's about to happen).

The unit is sturdy, and we've tested the alarm which, given its central position part way up the stairs, should alert us from anywhere in the house. I found I was able to install it into the plaster ceiling with the supplied screws without the need for drilling.

I haven't looked into the wireless capabilities of it, as we only have this one unit right now, but I would very much like to add more heat, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to the system, and I really like the fact that, in an emergency, triggering one would set off alarms in all units, so there's no chance of not hearing one in a distant corner of the house.

I'm using this as a stand-alone unit, so I haven't tested the wireless interlinking.

As a single detector/alarm this is neat and easy to fit. The main section twists in to place which makes it quick to remove for cleaning. After poking about trying to hit tiny test buttons on previous equipment, the large central button is definitely a welcome feature.

Waving a heat gun several feet away triggered the alarm, which is reassuring, and I was able to silence it with a DVD player remote. Not the loudest alarm sound but I'm certain it would wake me if it ever goes off. The battery is a sealed unit and can't be replaced. However, after ten years I'd expect to replace the whole unit anyway. The price is negligible for ten years protection and peace of mind.

This is a neat, compact heat detector alarm, ideal for kitchen use.
Unlike a smoke detector this device's alarm is set off by heat in the range 54-65C, so smoke from burning toast won't trigger this alarm.
The package contents are very thoughtfully put togther.
The alarm body itself contains a sealed for life battery so in this case batteries *are* included :)
The body mounting plate fixes to the detector with a slight twist and triggers an "I am alive" chirp from the detector.
An adhesive mounting holes template is provided - I thought this was an incredibly helpful and thoughtful touch. From the manual the intent is that you make the mounting holes and use the adhesive disc and plugs/screws provided to make a really secure mounting point. I'm not going to do that as I find the magnetic/adhesive disc mounting kits much more convenient - but still, top marks for the effort put into providing a good mounting kit.
A good set of instructions is provided in a liittle booklet rather than on an endless folded sheet of paper - top marks for that too. The print is small but I had no difficulties reading it while wearing my glasses.
The box says you can silence a sounding alarm with any infrared remote, but I could not see that mentioned in the instruction booklet after two readings. I did not test this feature as I am content to wait a few seconds for an alarm test to silence.

Works well and easy to install

Really impressed with the look and the ease of installation brackets have various holes for installing and you simply put the main unit to the bracket twist unlock into position very easy nice test button in the center there is a little delay but it works really well
Not over impressed with the instruction manual as it's quite hard to read because the manual so small but it is comprehensive
I do like you get a choice of using the double-sided sticky tape to fix the alarm up or you can use screws means that using the tape I was able to fix into place in seconds and impressed

I ordered this heat Fire alarm to install in my kitchen.

It comes with the alarm, a mounting plate bracket, screws and rawl plugs and a circular adhesive spongey sticker.

I chose to install the mounting plate on to my ceiling with the use of the rawl plugs and screws. The alarm then attaches to this plate by turning it until it until it is held in place. This switches the alarm on, it beeps and it's ready to go.

On the front of the alarm is a test button that also acts as the silence button.

I tested the alarm and whilst it makes an ear piercing sound it's not quite as loud as one of my other smoke alarms

The lithium battery inside the alarm is stated to last for 10 years.

This is a good choice alarm to install into a kitchen as it is a thermistor type alarm and is only set off by an increase in heat from a fire, so there are no false alarms from burning toast.

The alarm is stated to be able to be slienced by any remote control (one is not supplied). I have not tested this function.

Unit looks good. After unpacking very easy instalation. From the moment you twist it on the mounting plate it's active. Test button working as it should (see video) alarm is laud enough and as the best part you can connect this alarm wireless with other ones in one cluster or use it as a solo one it's up to you. Definitely good item worth the money.

Intended for locations that can be legitiably smokey or dusty when an optical or inonising detector would get triggered in error. Smaller than some, though deeper to bring the heat detector away from the body. It is white and neat looking. Comes with sticky pad and screws/plugs for fitting. The battery is activated when detector is locked into base (with a beep). I need to buy some more to test the wireless mode, these are interconnected by pressing the test button 2 or 3 times in quick succession (depending on master or extra units) a single quick press did the test beeps for me. The instructions come in most EU languages and seemed clear to me. I haven't tried the IR silence feature but that could be handy if the device is mounted on a high ceiling or up in a loft.

Really quick to install, just two screws each through the mounting plate into the ceiling/wall then place the unit into the base and rotate 1/3rd of a turn clockwise for the unit to click into place.

It is really easy(1/3rd of a turn anti-clockwise) to remove these from their bases to inspect/clean them later. One thing that I do when I install smoke-alarms is to write the installation date onto the back of the alarm.

Having not used this brand of alarm before I thought it best to test the heat alarm before installation. Having attached the unit to the mounting plate, I got a hair dryer and held it about 6 inches away blowing hot air at the alarm and and after about 8 seconds the heat alarm sounded. I let it reset and re-tested it, this time using a television remote to silence it which worked! The alarm also sounds if you perform a quick press on the central test button.

The heat alarm is best for your kitchen when a smoke alarm might go off each time you use your toaster. I installed this as a stand-alone heat alarm, the other alarms in the house are optical smoke detectors from another manufacturer. I have been unable to test the interlinking as this only works with other alarms from the same manufacturer.

I have attached a photograph of the box contents, it does come with screws and plugs and a user manual which seems to be written in various languages including well written English.

One small point, I think the manual could have offered better guidance on where in your kitchen to fit the unit. The various fire brigades have better guidance online about where to fit the alarm in the kitchen so worth Googling this before your installation to get the latest guidance. The general gist is that they should be positioned fairly centrally on the kitchen ceiling but not too close to any lights or heat source.

I don't have a full system yet but as a standalone alarm, this works well. Needs to be installed to connect the circuit to the battery but other than that, no issues.
