Carbon Monoxide Detector With 10 Years Battery

Love the options of sticking theseto something and not have to drill holes especially as I’m not very good at it so great option for people like me.. it appears to be working well and I feel a lot safer with them around.

Ordered approximately 100 of these to replace the ones reaching expiry across the house stock. The price, 10-year battery and 10 year life are basically unbeatable, but we've only started fitting them in the past couple of weeks so I can't yet confirm whether they are as good as the advertising material says they are.

My last detector had a light when working but this one hasn't. It doesn't stop it from working in regards to detecting any leaks

Bought this last year as a replacement to earlier version, for a rental property which had AA batteries, which needed replacing every year. CO detectors have a 10 year life span, so having one with a 10 year battery is a perfect, no hassle solution. definitely recommend over ones with replaceable batteries.

Haven't heard it bleep yet so it's either broken or working 馃槀. But seriously nice size, easy to fix to the wall and every home should have one.

I bought this for Mum & Dad's house & they didn't want anything high up on the ceiling where they's have to get ladders out to replace the battery so this is ideal. It is relatively small, solidly built & stands on a shelf.
I bought one for myself even though I have others as you can't be too vigilant as carbon monoxide is a silent killer.

The small size is easy to fit to areas, where Carbon Monoxide might occur, near gas heating boilers. Seems good value for money and long battery lifespan. Better safe than sorry, because carbon detection is so important to avoid suffocation while asleep. Tested unit and is accurate sounding alarm.

I really like any alarms that have a 10 year battery life, it avoids the situation where it runs out and you forget to replace the battery. It also avoids having to get up high to remove the unit to replace them, vital for older more immobile people.

This unit is small, and basic. It does not show you the ppm in numeric form (which I like, however doesn't mean anything to a lot of people). The thresholds before it alarms are set low, which makes it nice and safe. The alarm is loud, and meets required limits. Personally I like these alarms even louder so I can hear them all around my house, or over a loud TV. My other carbon monoxide detector is also 85db, however my smoke alarms are all 115db.

I chose to stick mine to the wall, as it comes with 2 sticky strips. However in the box is also a mounting kit with the screws required to attach it more rigidly.

Everyone should have a carbon monoxide detector, and indeed, if you have a house rather than a flat you really should have two.

With one little white box already sitting in the airing cupboard, this new addition is unobtrusive enough to be placed in the living room near a gas fire.

The test button took a few seconds to give a reassuring blast, and a green light goes on and off at 30 second intervals just to remind you it's 'alive' - you will be oblivious to this, soon, unless you specifically look.

I can't test, funnily enough, to see if it can detect real carbon monoxide so I I will say at least that all appears to be in working order. There's a guide to what the simple flashing light scheme means, in the instruction book.

The best thing about this model is the fact it has a 10 year replaceable battery so you don't have to chuck out the whole unit when the time comes. The battery required is a cylindrical 3V CR123A lithium type.

Product info states it complies with European Quality Standard EN50291.

The only good thing I can state on this is the long life battery. In ref to knowing if the unit is working, you have to press the test button, which is fine, but if you are curious on how much, if anything, to know if your house has any carbon monoxide leaking you won't know unless it's above the initial threshold and as such the LED's would start flashing.

Only reason I have stated the above is that I've got one in the spare room that has an LCD screen with a reading that constantly updates and wish this had a similar sort of indicator rather than the last minute alarm that would go off.

Installation was simple, 2 sticky pads is what I opted for rather than screwing on the back plate on the side of the cupboard.

This is great for non technical people, use straight out of the box with minimal setup required.

I like this product as it's a nice compact size and can be used either fixed to the wall or free-standing.
I choose to use it free standing, but the instructions for wall mounting look simple and easy to follow, plus it comes with everything you would need to fix it to the wall; a template, some screws, wall plugs and an instruction book. There is fairly comprehensive information on where to install the alarm, depending on whether the room has a source of CO or not. There is also a list of where it should not be installed, but in general, it's fairly common sense.
When you remove the battery protection it goes through its self-test routine, where the lights flash and the beeper sounds. the alarm is of a similar volume to a smoke alarm, so loud enough to be heard a few rooms away. You can also go through this routine by pressing the button on the front.
I think the alarm could be improved by a digital readout on the front, which would give more reassurance. It does have all the correct information to say that it complies with current EU specifications, but I guess it's difficult to really test it out. On the plus side, it does provide peace of mind with the hope that we will never need to use it.

At just 11.5cm wide, this small detector comes with mounting plate and screws or sticky pads should you plan to affix it to the wall - or it will free stand. Whichever, due to its tiny dimensions it won't be too intrusive in appearance. The alarm is good and loud and easy to test.

The instruction book it comes with is extremely comprehensive in detailing what carbon monoxide is generated by and how dangerous it is, as well as detailing the best places to fit one. My only criticism of this is that the writing and diagrams are so tiny that I struggled even with my glasses!

You activate the battery by removing the plastic tag and then put it in position. Couldn't be simpler. I like that the lithium battery can be replaced which effectively means this detector will last a lifetime - not end up in landfill like the ones with sealed batteries. Great!
